Hi, I’m Dr. SHEHZ
Born in India and later transplanted to the piney woods of East Texas, my formative years were a blend of cultural shock, adaptation, and a struggle for belonging. Navigating the complex dynamics of family immigration issues and mental health struggles, I developed an early resilience, an innate fortitude that turned discomfort into strength.
Amidst financial uncertainties, I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey during my teenage years, transforming a casual interest into SmartPhone ER, a local cell phone sales, repair, and refurbishment company. What started as a hobby, born out of necessity, flourished into a franchise of seven thriving retail stores across East Texas, symbolizing my determination and business acumen.
I then immersed myself in the field of ophthalmology, carving my path as the first DO admitted into a prestigious MD residency program. I also nurtured my childhood fascination for space, securing an internship at NASA’s Johnson Space Center where I delved into visual impairment issues astronauts encounter in zero gravity.
My ambition initially stemmed from a desire for recognition and prestige, but self-introspection brought a profound realization – my pursuit was about self-acceptance and a passion to contribute to humanity’s progress. This shift in perspective did not diminish my aspiration to contribute to space exploration. Instead, it became grounded in a deeper sense of purpose.
I hope to inspire others to transform their own trials into triumphs,

Following my residency, I acquired advanced training in intraocular lenses and keratorefractive surgery. My fascination with space endured, leading me to earn a specialized business degree to understand the emerging space economy, a multi-trillion-dollar frontier offering opportunities for marginalized individuals.
An adventurer at heart, I have scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, reflecting my belief in taking incremental steps towards lofty goals. This philosophy has served me well in my ventures into real estate investments, fostering my pathway to financial freedom.
Embracing public service, I have taken on the role of an Affirmative Action Officer for the Oklahoma Democratic Party. With my past as an undocumented immigrant, I bring firsthand understanding to the importance of providing opportunities for every individual to dream and achieve!
